VISA
For students from Bangladesh, Cameroon, Zambia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Philippines, Singapore, Zimbabwe, China, India, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Egypt, Syria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Iran, Uzbekistan and Jordan visa is issued locally. The Cyprus Migration Department has the right to include in this list any other country at any time.
ADMISSION, VISA AND FINANCIAL PROCEDURES

STEP 1 - APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Applicants wishing to apply for admission should send the following to the
Office of Admissions (the
fourth (4th) requirement applies only for MBA applicants):
1. Completed Application Form.
2. Application Fee of € 50 (non-refundable).
3. Attested photocopies of the Senior High School Graduation Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s). If the photocopies of the School Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s) are issued in a language other than English then a translation in English must be attached to the photocopies of the School Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s). The translation must clearly state the name, the telephone and fax of the person who made the translation.
4. Attested photocopies of the Bachelor Degree Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s). If the photocopies of the Bachelor Degree Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s) are issued in a language other than English then a translation in English must be attached to the attested photocopies of the Bachelor Degree Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s). The translation must clearly state the name, the telephone and fax of the person who made the translation.
5. Attested photocopies of other Academic Qualifications (if available) e.g. Bachelor’s degree or any other examinations passed.
6. Four Photographs (passport size with the applicant’s name written at the back).
7. Photocopy of Passport valid for at least two years.
As soon as the Office of Admissions receives all the above and provided that the applicant satisfies the admission entry requirements, the Office of Admissions will send a Certificate of Admission along with an Acceptance of Admissions Offer form to the applicant. The College will only apply to the Ministry of Education for the approval of the school certificates provided the items shown above have been submitted to the Office of Admissions at least one month prior to the beginning of the semester/session.
All students once they arrive in Cyprus are examined for HIV, Hepatitis B, Syphilis and Tuberculosis. If a student is found to be HIV-positive or active-tuberculosis then he/she is deported from Cyprus. In addition, if a student is found to be positive in Hepatitis B virus and it is high-infectivity then there is a possibility that the student will be deported from Cyprus.
STEP 2 - PAYMENT
The student should complete the Acceptance of Admissions Offer form and send it to the College. In addition, the student should forward a payment to the college after he/she receives the Certificate of Admission according to the following table:

Payments to the college should be made in accordance with the guidelines in the How to make a Payment section shown overleaf. Payments to the college can be made in Euros according to the columns above. If the actual amount received by the College is less than the particular amount, due to bank or other charges, final adjustment of fees will be done upon registration. For example a student who wants to pay for two semesters in advance for an undergraduate program must forward to the college a payment of a total of € 3.356 [i.e. € 2.856 tuition fees for two semesters (8 months approximately) and € 500 visa deposit (read the Visa Deposit section)]. Note that a discount applies for advance payments for two or more semesters.
STEP 3 – APPLY FOR A VISA
All international students who have been accepted at Americanos College will need a student entry visa to enter Cyprus. After receiving a total payment according to the above table, the Office of Admissions will give students the go-ahead to visit the Cyprus Embassy/Consulate/High Commission in order to apply for their visa. As soon as the college informs the applicants that they have been approved by the Ministry of Education, students should apply for a visa, taking with them the following (the second (2nd) requirement applies only for MBA applicants):
1. Original Senior High School Graduation Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s).
2. Original Bachelor Degree Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s).
3. Original Character Certificate issued by the local police or Ministry of Home Affairs (for Indian nationals this must be issued by thePassport Office), stating that the applicant has no criminal record. This must have a validity of at least six (6) months from the date of the interview.
4. Original Bank Letter stating that the student’s sponsor has sufficient funds to finance the student’s stay and studies in Cyprus. The student’s name, sponsor’s name and their relationship should appear clearly on the letter. The sponsor can only be the father or mother of the applicant. This must have been issued no more than six (6) months before the date classes commence for the semester/session applying for. If neither the Passport nor the Police Character Letter state the relationship between the student and the sponsor then a Certificate of Relationship issued by the Police or other official authorities stating the relationship between the student and the sponsor must accompany the bank letter.
5. Passport.
6. Original Swift Transfer Receipt issued by the Bank / Western Union / Money Gram of at least € 3,200.
7. Copy of the receipt sent by the College.
8. 4 photographs
9. Photocopies of all the above along with a translation in English for the documents that are issued in a language other than English. International students should not travel to Cyprus before they receive their entry visa from the Cyprus Embassy/Consulate/High Commission.
STEP 4 - ARRIVAL IN CYPRUS
Upon his/her arrival at Larnaca Airport in Cyprus the student will have to present to the immigration officer at the passport control desk the following:
1. At least € 1.600 in the form of cash or traveler's cheques.
2. Certificate of Admission (issued by the college).
3. Entry visa (given at the Cyprus Embassy/Consulate/High Commission).
4. An open-date return air ticket valid for one year.
5. All the documents that were shown at the Cyprus Embassy/Consulate/High Commission and officially stamped by the visa officers.
The student will be given a temporary resident permit (visa) for 14 days at Larnaca Airport. The temporary resident permit will be extended after the student’s registration with Americanos College.

VISA DEPOSIT
The visa deposit is refunded (subject to bank and administration charges) to the student when he/she:
1. returns to his/her country within two months from the date he/she was last a registered student;
2. has no financial or other obligations to the college;
3. has no valid temporary resident permit (TRP) in his/her possession; and
4. has claimed his/her visa deposit refund within six months from the date he/she was last a registered student.
REFUND POLICY
Once the student makes a payment for the tuition fees and visa deposit to the College, a refund is only made if the entry visa to Cyprus is denied.

Admission Requirements

Business Administration & Computer Studies
The Criteria for admission include the following requirements:
1. Completion of the standard Admissions Form.
2. A Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
3. One recent passport size photograph.
4. The successful completion of the Foundation Course the College offers, in
cases where this is required.
5. Students are required to take the College's English Language Placement
Test Before the commencement of their studies. This is done so that the
College is able to properly evaluate the students level of English and
place them in the appropriate classes of the foundation, Certificate or the
Diploma course.
6. The application fee for all the courses is Euro 100
Note: Students whose first language is English or have passed GCE O' Level Examinations with a minimum grade of C or IELTS Examinations with the minimum grade of 5.5 will be excluded from the foundation Course. All the Studentswho pass the College's English Language Placement test will be allocated to the Diploma Course of their choice.
Note: There is no English requirement. Students will sit for a placement test upon arrival and if their English is good they will be admitted to the main courses otherwise they will have to do the Foundation English Language Course for 1 or 2 semesters.
Tuition Fees:

For the first year of all the courses is Euro 3200..For the summer 2008 intake, we are offering a free semester, which basically means students will study three semesters with the tuition fees of 3200 Euros. This means, the tuition fees of 3200 Euros will cover Summer 08, Fall 08 and Spring 09.
Tution Fee €3740 Euro (Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Euro) per annum, which are payable in advance. This amount includes an immigration deposit of €400 Euro's (Four Hundred Euro). The annual cost of living in Cyprus is approximately €4,000 Euro's.
Intakes:

Accommodation:
College will find the accommodation but students need to pay rent.
Part Time Work:
Students are allowed to work 20 hours a week during school days and 40 hours a week during the summer holidays.The college will help students to find part time jobs but will not gurantee placement. The pay scale is a minimum of 4 Euros and maximum of 10 Euros per hour and an average income of the student is 550 Euros. This income of course will be more than this amount .
Security: There is no crime in Cyprus so the environmental security is always there. Regarding other security, students are the most secure people here.

There is Embassy – Consulate Office in Sri Lanka in Colombo. Students will have to go for interview over there. During the interview, students will have to present the following documents: Passport Police Clearance Certificate Statement from the bank that his/her sponsor has enough money for his studies. Academic certificates Receipt from Global College that the student has paid his tuition fees. With these documents, there is a high percentage of chance for the visa.

Asian Students
Students from Asia are required to attend an interview at the Embassy/Consulate of Cyprus in their own Country. At the interview they must take the following documentation with them:
1. A Registration Letter from the Global College.
2. A receipt of €3200 from the college must be produced plus a copy of the Bank Draft or Bank Transfer showing that the money was sent.
3. An Original Police Clearance Certificate.
4. An Original Bank Statement, which should indicate that the student's parent/sponsor has sufficient funds to support the applicants studies in Cyprus.
5. Original Educational Qualifications and duplicate copies of these, certified by a Notary Public.
6. Passport.
7. Two Passport size photographs.
The annual cost of living in Cyprus is approximately €4,000 Euro's.
Cyprus is a full member of EU and there will be interviews of all students in the Consular office in Colombo. The dates of interview and application are set by the ministry of Education Cyprus.

PART-TIME WORK:
Please be advised that the Cyprus Parliament has voted the law of part-time work and it has been effected since Summer Intake 2008. According to the law, a student can work legally after his arrival to Cyprus and provided that he/she spends a minimum of six (6) months at the college, and attending his/her lessons. After the period of 6 months, the student is entitled to work part-time for a period of 20 hours per week during Spring and Fall Intake and 38 hours during the Summer vacations.
During the semester they can work up to 20 hours per week (outside of lesson times) and during the summer vacation up to 38 hours per week. The hourly rate starts from 5EURO-10EURO per hour approximately depending on the job and the employer. A Career Development Centre is available for all our students in the College for all the WORK and STUDY Programmes
