International Foundation Programme
Azad University (IR) in Oxford offers a
choice between two international foundation programmes:
(1) the International Foundation Certificate (IFC) which has been
especially designed for students interested in Engineering, Computer
Science and Art & Design
and (2) the International Foundation Programme (IFP) which is
designed for students interested in the Social Sciences and particularly
fields such as business studies.
All students on the Foundation will follow a general course of
study. The Foundation students will select a specialty within the
program to be prepared in their chosen undergraduate degree programme.
This is a new initiative offering a combined course for students
who wish to study at university in the UK. While improving their English
to university entrance level, commonly an IELTS score of 6.0 or 6.5,
students will be given a sound foundation upon which to base their
continuing undergraduate education.
The aim of the course is to prepare students for undergraduate
study by developing their English language and study skills, and
increasing their knowledge of their main academic subject and other
related subject areas.
Currently, Azad university (IR) in Oxford is offering the science
pathway of the International Foundation in collaboration with Kingston.
The social science pathway will be on offer by 2009-2010.
By the end of the course, participants:
will have an increased knowledge of their subject area and of
related subjects in preparation for future study.
will have developed academic study skills and habits that will
help them succeed in their undergraduate studies.
will have improved their general and academic English skills.
will have acquired an understanding of the conventions and the
study culture of British universities.
