International Foundation Programme

Azad University (IR) in Oxford offers a choice between two international foundation programmes:
(1) the International Foundation Certificate (IFC) which has been especially designed for students interested in Engineering, Computer Science and Art & Design
and (2) the International Foundation Programme (IFP) which is designed for students interested in the Social Sciences and particularly fields such as business studies.
All students on the Foundation will follow a general course of study. The Foundation students will select a specialty within the program to be prepared in their chosen undergraduate degree programme.

This is a new initiative offering a combined course for students who wish to study at university in the UK. While improving their English to university entrance level, commonly an IELTS score of 6.0 or 6.5, students will be given a sound foundation upon which to base their continuing undergraduate education.

The aim of the course is to prepare students for undergraduate study by developing their English language and study skills, and increasing their knowledge of their main academic subject and other related subject areas.
Currently, Azad university (IR) in Oxford is offering the science pathway of the International Foundation in collaboration with Kingston. The social science pathway will be on offer by 2009-2010.

By the end of the course, participants:
will have an increased knowledge of their subject area and of related subjects in preparation for future study.
will have developed academic study skills and habits that will help them succeed in their undergraduate studies.
will have improved their general and academic English skills.
will have acquired an understanding of the conventions and the study culture of British universities.
