Location

Based in Hatfield just north of London , our university has a diverse and vibrant community that attracts people from all over the world. We offer a safe campus, close enough to London to make use of everything it offers, yet surrounded by the beauty of rural Hertfordshire.

We are a single campus university with two main sites: College Lane Campus and de Havilland Campus. The two sites are less than one km apart and are linked by pathways, cycle routes and the university shuttle bus.

Our School of Law occupies a smaller site in the cathedral city of St Albans , eight km away from Hatfield. The school is a short walk from St Albans mainline station.

About the University

We are the UK ’s leading business-facing university. The University of Hertfordshire is an ambitious and entrepreneurial university with an international vision, putting students at the heart of what we do.

The University of Hertfordshire is consistently one of the highest placed modern universities in the UK and has recently been ranked 16th for engineering (The Times, 2004), and within the top 20 for business and top 10 for tourism (The Guardian, 2004).The University's School of Law is located in the historic Roman city of St. Albans about five miles from the main Hatfield campuses. Graduates from HIBT's Undergraduate Pathway in Law and the Postgraduate Pathway in Law will study for their degree here.

The campus has a specialist Law library and its very own courtroom. The recently completed £120 million de Havilland campus, also in Hatfield, houses the Business School and the Social Sciences faculty. It also provides further modern accommodation for students, state of the art lecture theatres and learning facilities as well as a brand new sports and leisure complex, the Hertfordshire Sports Village . Here students benefit from an ultra modern gym, swimming pool, sports hall, all weather pitches and a climbing wall.

The University of Hertfordshire welcomes students from Sri Lanka . On joining the University, you will become part of a student community of 23,500 undergraduate and postgraduates which in 2005-6 included 2,600 international students from over 85 countries.
