The University of Hertfordshire is consistently one of the highest placed modern universities in the UK and has recently been ranked 16th for engineering (The Times, 2004), and within the top 20 for business and top 10 for tourism (The Guardian, 2004).The University's School of Law is located in the historic Roman city of St. Albans about five miles from the main Hatfield campuses. Graduates from HIBT's Undergraduate Pathway in Law and the Postgraduate Pathway in Law will study for their degree here. |
The campus has a specialist Law library and its very own courtroom. The recently completed £120 million de Havilland campus, also in Hatfield, houses the Business School and the Social Sciences faculty. It also provides further modern accommodation for students, state of the art lecture theatres and learning facilities as well as a brand new sports and leisure complex, the Hertfordshire Sports Village. Here students benefit from an ultra modern gym, swimming pool, sports hall, all weather pitches and a climbing wall.

HIBT is located in the middle of the University of Hertfordshire's College Lane Campus in Hatfield. HIBT is just 25 minutes train journey from the centre of London and accessible to all the major London airports. HIBT Undergraduate Pathway Programmes are taught in conjunction with the University of Hertfordshire, and HIBT graduates are guaranteed entry to a range of Hertfordshire degree courses. With three(3) entry dates each year in February, June and October, small class sizes, academic and language support and full access to University facilities, HIBT offers a unique opportunity for International Students wishing to study in the UK. |

HIBT is accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC), an independent body that ensures the highest standards are maintained in private sector education institutions. HIBT conducts University Pathway Programmes- Elicos and English preparatory courses as well as Foundation, Pre-University, University and Pre-Masters programmes in a wide range of disciplines across twelve (12) colleges worldwide.
Requirements:
Certificate:
Successful completion of Year 11 (GCE O Levels) or equivalent.
Diploma: 1 A Level pass and 2 AS passes.
Students with the equivalent of GCE O/L or GCSE level qualifications (e.g. SPM, Senior middle 2, O'level, SSC, Year 11) with good grades can complete their Honours Degree programme in only 3-years (June or October start). Students with A' Level qualifications (e.g. STPM, Senior Middle 3, HSC, and Year 12) can complete their honours degree in just over 2 years (February start) All students' entry qualifications will be considered individually.

Undergraduate Pathway Programme - Business

This programme will prepare you for Fast Track entry into the Second Year of the University of Hertfordshire degree course in Business. The HIBT pathway ensures that students have the requisite background knowledge to transfer and succeed in the undergraduate syllabus of their choice leading to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the fields of Business and Management (including a MBA and DBA), Accounting & Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Business Information Systems, Management Sciences and Tourism. |
Undergraduate Pathway Programme - Life Sciences and Psychology
The HIBT Undergraduate Pathway Programme in Life Sciences and Psychology consists of a preparatory course leading to entry into a wide range of degree programmes including: Biotechnology , Molecular Biology ,Microbiology ,Pharmaceutical Science, Environmental Sciences ,Psychology.
Undergraduate Pathway Programme- Law
The HIBT Undergraduate Pathway consists of a preparatory course leading to entry into a LLB degree at the University of Hertfordshire's School of Law. the HIBT component, the Certificate, is taught at the College Lane campus. Successful candidates of the programme will then transfer to First Year of the LLB, based at the Law School's site in historic St. Albans.
Undergraduate Pathway Programme - Science and Engineering

This programme will prepare you for Fast Track entry to the University of Hertfordshire degree courses in maths, physics, engineering (including computer engineering, aerospace engineering, automotive engineering, multimedia engineering) and astronomy. The University of Hertfordshire has a strong reputation for its science and engineering programmes.If you are interested in electronics and multimedia engineering you will enter the UH, School of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering after completion of the HIBT programme of study. |
This department has built on the University's reputation in working with industry and hosts a number of Subject Groups that support innovative teaching methodologies and conduct research supported by industry or other funding bodies. If you are interested in physics, maths or astrophysics you will enter the University of Hertfordshire's School of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics after completion of the HIBT programme. Teaching in this department is personalised and innovative. Other HIBT Science and Engineering students may choose to enter the University of Hertfordshire's School of Aerospace, Automotive and Design Engineering which has an excellent long established reputation stemming from its strong links with the de Havilland Aircraft Company and British Aerospace.
Undergraduate Pathway Programme - Mass Communications

This programme will prepare students for Fast Track entry into the Second Year of the University of Hertfordshire BA (Hons) in Communication and Media Studies. This is the University of Hertfordshire's preferred pathway for International Students wishing to pursue this degree, offering the opportunity to study complementary subjects in Film, Journalism, Digital Publishing and Media Culture. |
Mass Communications is currently taught within the School of Humanities on the University of Hertfordshire's brand new de Havilland Campus but will form part of the new suite of courses offered by the forthcoming, state of the art, School of Media Studies.
Postgraduate Pathway Programme- Law

The HIBT Graduate Certificate in Law is a Postgraduate Qualifying Programme. It is designed for those students wishing to undertake a Masters in Law (LLM) but who hold a degree in a non-Law discipline, such as Business, International Relations or Political Science. The Programme is also suitable for those who have not met the minimum entry requirements to enrol directly in a LLM. |
The Graduate Certificate in law commences each February and June (depending on English Language proficiency) and runs for the summer period. After successful completion, students then transfer in late September into their desired LLM at the University of Hertfordshire. Progression is guaranteed into the following Masters in Law degrees:
LLM e-Commerce Law, LLM Commercial Law, LLM Company Law, LLM International Law,
LLM Telecommunications Law, LLM Maritime Law
English Preparatory Programme
The University of Hertfordshire English Language Department runs an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme which prepares students for entry onto HIBT Undergraduate Pathways. The EAP is designed for those who do not have the required English language ability, see below, and is undertaken prior to entering an HIBT programme. All teaching takes place within the Department at the College Lane Campus and is directly opposite the HIBT building. EAP courses are conducted every semester (starting Feb, June, and October) for the duration of twelve (12) weeks and incorporate twenty-one (21) hours of tuition per week.
Scholarships
IBT Education, world leaders in university preparation, pathway and degree programs, is committed to helping students achieve their career goals by offering scholarships to outstanding students.
There are the following scholarships available:
Three full tuition fee scholarships for university level Diploma programs are being offered per annum for study at one of the IBT UK colleges. One scholarship per intake will be awarded for each of the three intakes.
Two partial scholarships (50% of the total tuition fee) are offered each semester by all IBT member institutions, including LIBT. The scholarship for university level Diploma or first year undergraduate program applies to the student’s final semester of study (or the equivalent of four units of study.
