English for Academic Purposes
ICP recognises that some international students may require English tuition prior to commencing their academic study. Therefore, we offer intensive English courses at ICP, completion of which allows students to proceed to International Foundation or 1st Year Degree programmes.
International Foundation Programmes
These programmes are suitable for students who do not meet the entry requirements for 1st Year Degree programmes or those for whom the system in which they have been studying does not qualify them for 1st Year Degree entry. These programmes are conducted in ICP using dedicated lecturers and small class sizes to provide excellent support to our students. Successful completion of the International Foundation programme guarantees transfer to degree level studies.

Once you have accepted an offer to study at ICP you may then wish for ICP support services to help arrange your accommodation in Portsmouth or offer advice about the best option for you.A vibrant coastal city with easy access to London, Portsmouth is a great place to live and provides some of the least expensive student accommodation in the south of England. Our support staff are
experts on the local area and will be more than happy to help you find somewhere suitable to stay whilst studying at ICP.
Homestay
For many students, the opportunity to stay with a local family, off-campus and in the community, offers a special appeal. As a homestay student, you will have the chance to be a part of the family, taking part in family activities and celebrating special occasions. It is also a great way for students to learn about British culture whilst improving their English at the same time.
Homestay normally includes two meals a day (breakfast and dinner) with flexibility to arrange three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Homestay options At ICP we recognise the importance of safe and comfortable accommodation. For many of our
students,
studying at ICP will be the first time they have lived away from their
family and friends for a long period of time. For this reason we take
the accommodation of our students very seriously and are always here to
provide help and advice if needed. There is a range of various
accommodation options available in
your experience of living and learning in another country all the more enjoyable.can be tailored to your needs and
can include extra benefits such as a laundry service. On average, a homestay will cost between £1200 to £1600 per semester (15 weeks maximum). ICP
operates a referral service for those students wishing to take up homestay. Many students enjoy the homestay option as it provides an
opportunity to live with a locally approved family and join in all that

Shared accommodation
Shared accommodation is difficult to arrange from overseas. ICP
appreciates this and offers a referral service to local landlords so
that you can plan your accommodation arrangements before your arrival
should you wish to organise this privately.
ICP student services will be happy to facilitate communication with
local landlords and, on average, shared accommodation rent will start
from around £50 per week.
