The Midtown Manhattan Campus

There's no better place to experience the energy of the business world than in New York City. Established in 1936, the New York City campus of Berkeley College has more than 2,000 students enrolled in day, evening, weekend, and online courses.

Berkeley's two midtown buildings on 41st and 43rd Streets, between 5th and Madison, are in close proximity to Grand Central Station (providing easy access to subways, trains, and buses). And the College's Lower Manhattan Extension Center is located in the heart of New York's financial district, easily accessible by public transportation from the five boroughs.

When it comes to culture, New York City is beyond compare. Within easy reach of the College are museums, Broadway theaters, concerts, ballet, opera, libraries, churches, historic sites, and much more. Public transportation quickly brings students to Wall Street, Greenwich Village, Soho, Chinatown, Little Italy, Central Park, famous Fifth Avenue shops, the United Nations, amusement areas, and world-renowned landmarks. New York's diverse neighborhoods, fine restaurants, clubs, street festivals, and year-round special events add an extra dimension to the college experience. The diversity of the students who come to the New York City Campus from different backgrounds, nationalities, and lifestyles is as distinguished as the area.

The Facilities
When students step into the 43rd Street entrance of the impressive seven-story Main Building, they see that the first-floor administrative offices and the reception area still capture the charm of St. Christopher's Chapel, which previously occupied the space

Lower Manhattan Extension Center

Berkeley's Lower Manhattan Extension Center is located in the heart of New York's dynamic financial district within walking distance of Wall Street, City Hall and South Street Seaport.

Approximately four miles from Berkeley College's Midtown Campus and situated right next to the Fulton Street Subway Station, the Center is easily accessible by public transportation from the five boroughs and allows students to take advantage of invaluable internship opportunities.

The Facility
The Center offers classrooms, seminar and conference facilities, computer labs, library, administrative and faculty offices and a student lounge within clean, secure and comfortable surroundings. Students, faculty and staff have access to state-of-the-art technology including a full wireless wi-fi network and more than seventy-five pc's, printers, data video projectors and scanners. All facilities are designed to accommodate the disabled.

Admissions Procedures
Graduation from secondary school or its equivalent and proof of English knowledge are basic requirements for admission to a Berkeley program. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The Committee on International Admissions notifies applicants of a decision as soon as all credentials have been received. International students applying for admission should submit the International Student Application Form; a nonrefundable $50 application fee; $300 tuition deposit; a certified official transcript (in English) of previously completed education; a TOEFL score, if available; and Certification of Finances. The TOEFL score required to enter any academic program at Berkeley College is 500PBT/173CBT/61IBT.

Student Visa Requirements
To apply for a SEVIS I-20 (which is needed to obtain an F1 Student Visa), students must satisfy to the College, based on visa regulations, that sufficient finances are available to pay for tuition and living expenses. This can be verified by a certified bank statement showing $30,000 from your sponsor. Once accepted to Berkeley, the SEVIS I-20 is sent with the Acceptance Package.

English As A Second Language
Berkeley offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) program through Embassy CES at the New York City campus. Students who wish to enter one of Berkeley's programs and do not have the required TOEFL score can apply for both ESL classes and admission to Berkeley College at the same time using the International Student Application Form. If all requirements are met, conditional acceptance into the academic program is granted based on successful completion of the ESL program. Students without a TOEFL score may be accepted to Berkeley College if they have successfully completed ESL at an approved language program such as Level 112 at an ELS Language Center.

Tuition and Financial Aid

One of Berkeley's highest priorities is to ensure that sufficient financial aid is available to all eligible students. Berkeley College offers a wide variety of financial assistance programs and financing options for students who need to supplement their own resources to meet college costs. Berkeley also offers protection from tuition increases to students who maintain continuous, full-time enrollment.

Long Island University - 75 Years of Access and Excellence

aireal view

The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University is located on 307 beautiful acres in Brookville New York, on the north shore of Long Island. The campus is set in the idyllic neighborhood known as the "Gold Coast," an historic suburban community that has been the subject of popular novels and major motion pictures. The campus is just 50 minutes away from the excitement of New York City.

Our campus is considered one of the most beautiful in the country. It is shaped by modern buildings and historic mansions, including the former homes of Post Cereal Company heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post and financial wizard E.F. Hutton. The campus is an arboretum featuring 4,000 trees, magnificent formal gardens, sprawling green lawns, and nature trails.

C.W. Post's ideal location in Nassau County gives you quick and easy access to Long Island's world-class beaches, exciting entertainment, great restaurants and shopping. The campus is only 10 minutes by car from the Long Island Expressway - your thoroughfare to all that Long Island and New York City have to offer.

University

Long Island University was chartered by the New York State Education Department in 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, as a nonsectarian, coeducational, privately supported university established to provide “effective and moderately priced education” to people from “all walks of life.” From its beginning, admission to the University has been based solely on merit and promise. Large numbers of immigrants and children of immigrants have enrolled at Long Island University in their quest to achieve the American dream. Today, more than 11,300 students* study, learn and grow at the original campus, located in the heart of thriving downtown Brooklyn.

The College of Pharmacy, the oldest unit of Long Island University, now named the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, was established as the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy in 1886. It became affiliated with the University in 1929 and merged with the Brooklyn Campus in 1976. One of the largest private colleges of pharmacy in the country, it is a doctoral degree-granting unit with a strong emphasis on training hospital and community pharmacists.

In 1947, recognizing the educational needs of the growing number of families moving to the suburbs, the University purchased the estate of Mrs. Joseph E. Davis, better known as Marjorie Merriweather Post. The C.W. Post Campus was originally conceived to be a small liberal arts and sciences college. Today, this 307-acre, doctoral degree-granting campus is home to nearly 10,600 students.**

From 1963 to 2005, the University also taught students at a third residential campus, located in Southampton, which was distinguished by its outstanding programs in marine science and the arts. For cost reasons, it proved necessary to consolidate undergraduate offerings at C.W. Post, and to transfer the registration of the marine science programs and to sell the campus to the State University of New York at Stony Brook. WLIU 88.3 F.M., the flagship station of the Long Island University Public Radio Network, continues to broadcast from the campus.

Long Island University has four non-residential campuses, primarily offering graduate degrees, located in Purchase (Westchester), Orangeburg (Rockland), and Brentwood and Riverhead (both in Suffolk County). Global College, which originally was founded as Friends World College in 1965 by the Society of Friends, is based at the Brooklyn Campus and operates overseas centers in China, Japan, Costa Rica, India and South Africa.

ACEDAMIC PROGRAMS General
